Magi May Fail to Add Up
(Turner South News Release, March 6, 2006) - Turner South, the first and only network to showcase and celebrate the contemporary Southern experience, travels to Greensboro , N.C. , in a new episode of its original series 3 DAY WEEKEND, Monday, March 13, at 10:30 p.m. ET. The program takes a couple on a weekend getaway, discovering many charming and entertaining sites that a long weekend in the exciting city may offer.
The show begins with the couple checking into the O.Henry Hotel, arriving in a London-style taxi, the Henrietta. Matt & Anne begin their adventure with a skydiving jump from Carolina Skydiving. Next, the couple heads out to Linden Street Artworks studio, which is home to over 35 local artists. Local craftsmen teach Matt & Anne metalworking, which helps them work up an appetite for their first dinner at Green Valley Grill.
Day two starts with a tour of the Greensboro Farmer’s Curb Market, and moves on to rock climbing on the outskirts of Hanging Rock State Park. After learning to climb on a 115-foot rock formation, Matt & Anne head to Red Oak Brewery for a hearty meal of homemade macaroni and a tasting of their original beer. The historic aspects of the city are not overlooked, as the couple gets a look at the Francis McNairy House and an 18th Century cemetery, all courtesy of a guided tour from the Greensboro Historical Museum. They enjoy wine flights along with dinner at Lucky 32 on the second day. Day three brings welcome relaxation with a couple’s massage from O.Henry Hotel’s masseuse. Also included in their weekend in the city is an afternoon High Tea, drinks and entertainment at the nightclub Much, and a tour of Childress Vineyards.
