2016 Nationwide U.S. Masters Swimming Spring National Championship

The 2016 U.S. Masters Swimming Spring National Championship will be held April 28 - May 1 at the Greensboro Aquatic Complex in Greensboro, North Carolina. This facility boasts two 10-lane 25-yard competition courses plus 12 warm-up lanes.

 

MEAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships

NC A&T State University | May 5, 2016 to May 7, 2016

The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) will host its Outdoor Track and Field Championships at NC A&T University in Greensboro, NC from May 5-7, 2016. Events will include men’s and women’s high jump, pole vault, shot put, hurdles and many others. The thirteen-school conference includes North Carolina A&T State, North Carolina Central, Howard University, Delaware State and other educational institutions spanning up the east coast.

 

USSSA Basketball Mayfest Challenge

Greensboro Sportsplex | May 7, 2016 to May 8, 2016

This basketball tournament, run by the North Carolina Basketball Academy and sanctioned by USSSA (United States Specialty Sports Association) features boys and girls teams from elementary through high school levels. It is one of several events thrown by the North Carolina Basketball Academy in Greensboro throughout the year.

 

Triad Highland Games

Quickly becoming an area tradition, the Triad Highland Games take place each year at Bryan Park, only a few miles from our hotel. This May, part of the North Carolina AAU Boys Basketball State Championships will take place at the Greensboro Coliseum, showcasing the talents of young athletes ages 7-18.

 

Greensboro Half Marathon

Start/Finish at Friendly Center and Run Through Various Locations | May 15, 2016

The third annual Blue Cross and Blue Shield of NC Race 13.1 Greensboro half marathon, 10k and 5k event on May 15 will feature a brand new course in 2016. The new route will include a 40% decrease in elevation with a large portion of the race featuring the beautiful Lake Daniel and Latham Park greenways. The race will start and finish once again at Friendly Center, Greensboro’s premier shopping and dining destination, which provides plenty of accessible parking for participants and spectators.

ACC Hall of Champions showcases ACC history through interactive displays, unique institutional exhibits and multi-purpose program space. Highlights include a four-foot, 360-degree, state-of-the-art video globe with a unique, multi-media display of conference highlights, life-size ACC school mascot exhibits that have been a huge hit with younger visitors and an interactive exhibit that lets fans face off in a head-to-head challenge to test their knowledge of ACC sports trivia.
